Our History

Hunter Crane & Equipment, Inc. was founded in 1959 by Roy Hunter Sr., whose vision and work ethic laid the foundation for what has become a trusted name in the heavy equipment industry.

What began as Roy Hunter Equipment Co. started with a simple but ambitious goal: to support land development and construction projects with reliable equipment and dependable service. Early on, Roy recognized the growth potential along the Texas Gulf Coast and began investing in equipment to support clearing, subdivision, and development work. As demand increased, so did the business.

Through determination and a willingness to adapt, Roy expanded operations by acquiring additional equipment and leasing machinery to contractors and industries throughout the region. What began as a small, side operation grew into a full-time business, serving a wide range of construction and industrial needs.

Over the decades, the company has continued to evolve, expanding into crane rental, heavy haul transportation, and specialized lifting services. While the equipment and capabilities have grown, the core values established in 1959 remain the same: hard work, reliability, and a commitment to doing the job right.

Today, Hunter Crane & Equipment is proud to be a third-generation, family-owned and operated company. With deep roots in the industry and a forward-looking approach, we continue to build on our legacy serving clients across Texas and beyond with the same dedication that started it all.
